kind of a long drive depending on where you live, free parking
How bad were the on call hours?
no call
What were your weekday hours?
for gero psych, arrive around 8-8:30, see the inpatients and write notes till 11, then go to out patient clinic till about 3 or 4
What were your weekend hours?
none
What should we know about the attendings and residents?
some attendings don't let you do anything but watch them talk to patients, my attending really counted on my help
Did you learn any new procedures or skills?
you'll learn the MMSE like the back of your hand
What books were useful for the shelf exam?
I used Psych Recall, and Blueprints in Psych wasn't very good

Did you have enough time to study for it?
yes
What pearls of wisdom should an incoming student ABSOLUTELY know?
find out what your patients are in for, because I had one who had actually killed another resident at a nursing home, so stay out of arm's reach!
