Any tips on preparing for Day 1?

EEG lab is on the 1st floor, take the stairs up from the tunnel and walk past the info desk directly in front of you when you exit the stairwell, it should be right in front of you orientation is about 10 min, be ready to jump in

How was the driving and parking?

fine

How bad were the on call hours?

call till nine, I was only called once during the month, if you want to be busy get in touch with the resident, they usually don't page you when someone comes in

What were your weekday hours?

rounds at 8, see pts. before, write notes after, clinic twice a week, 2-3 afternoon lectures per week

What were your weekend hours?

go in one day, rounds only, home by noon

What should we know about the attendings and residents?

all are pretty nice ot students and willing to teach

Did you learn any new procedures or skills?

saw a LP, learned more about MRI, CT, and EEG

What books were useful for the shelf exam?

recall

How was your shelf exam?

Did you have enough time to study for it?

use time off during the day, you don't get out after checkout rounds until approx 7

glennon was a great place to do this rotation, but the other locations weren't as busy and did not have check out rounds,
