yes

Any tips on preparing for Day 1?

very disorganized beginning, little to no orientation, and a bunch of neurorehab patients dumped on you by lunchtime.

How was the driving and parking?

the same as if driving to the med school.

How bad were the on call hours?

once every five days until 9 pm. no overnight call.

What were your weekday hours?

arrive at 6, round with residents and attending around 8, after rounds, there's really nothing left to do unless there is lecture.

What were your weekend hours?

one day per weekend until around noon unless on call.

What should we know about the attendings and residents?

The residents are nice but they seem overwhelmed at times and really don't teach unless you pry it out of them. The attendings are luck of the draw, depending upon who is on service.

Did you learn any new procedures or skills?

I saw an LP and did neuro exams over and over and over again.

What books were useful for the shelf exam?

Neurology Recall

yes.

What pearls of wisdom should an incoming student ABSOLUTELY know?

it's going to be a mind-numbing experience since you will be seeing the same patients everyday for weeks at a time.

How would you rate the stress level?

tolerable

Are you now more or less interested in this specialty as a career?
