2 weeks during Labor and
Delivery sucks (12 days even on
weekends)

During L&D=long hours and lots of
births
During Gyn surgery=early morning surgery and rounds then either clinics or
goofing off the rest of the day (at St.
Mary's)

only on L&D
What should we know about the attendings and residents?
For the
most part very helpful
Did you learn any new procedures or skills?
delivering babies,
suturing and saw many surgeries
What books were useful for the shelf exam?
I liked BluePrints
b/c of the pictures, Appleton and Lange
was good for exam type questions

Did you have enough time to study for it?
Probably, but I goofed
off a lot, too. The shelf was very
much like Boards, read the vingettes quickly or you won't get done.

Eat as many free meals as
you can
